Confession time: up until a few weeks ago, we had no idea who or what a Verity is. So yea, don’t feel bad if you didn’t know about him either. I’d say he’s like a creepy pasta monster or something, but I don’t even know if that’s 100% accurate. Either way, I don’t have to understand where he came from to make him. 🤭

So yes, three weeks ago we were asked to make a Verity puppet for a short film. The only problem was, they wanted to go to camera in less than a week! So we dropped everything we had going on (luckily it was a quiet week) and started building. He’s over 7 ft tall, has a completely articulate skeleton, a stretching mouth, one articulated (cable controlled) hand and one poseable hand (with wires inside). A green screen suited puppeteer controls Verity from behind him or off screen.

For a rush build I personally think he looks pretty good! (Though unfortunately he did have some minor malfunctions on set, but nothing that can’t be fixed). Let us know what you think in the comments!

The YouTubers who commissioned him don’t only go to camera quickly after the conception of an idea, they also release their work just as quickly.
