Newsletter November 2026

The Halloween edition of the Locked in the Cellar newsletter was sent out on November 6th. Read it below!

Halloween Recap

I swear, I started writing this newsletter in mid October. But then the Halloween insanity hit, and suddenly we’re in November. Oops. 👻

I hope your Halloween was awesome. We actually got to go out and enjoy ourselves for a change (instead of working ourselves into oblivion, and then being too exhausted to do anything on the Big Night). Brian sculpted himself a brand new bat/vampire prosthetic for the Crimson Masquerade at Stormcrow Manor on Devil’s Night. I myself made a new version of an old favourite – a pearlescent Dragon Skull Mask. And on Halloween night we visited friends and terrorized the kids in their neighbourhoods – the one night of the year when you can scare the crap out of other people’s kids without getting in trouble. Fun fun fun! 🧛🏼‍♂️

Either way, here are our October recollections and November anticipations!

Ready for your next production

Just want to start with a quick reminder that we’re available for all your gore, creature, injury and blood SPFX, including custom prosthetics makeup and props/weapons. We do everything practical and can work in collaboration with your VFX team where necessary.

Blood in the Snow

We are super excited that two feature films that we worked on have been selected for the Blood in the Snow Film Festival in Toronto! We haven’t seen either yet, so we’re very much looking forward to these screenings. Both are promising to be pretty splattery. Tickets are still available, so come join us there!

Hy3na – Monday Nov 16th at 9:30pm
StarSuckers – Thursday Nov 19th at 9:30pm

Texas Chainsaw Kill Shack

For the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Cast & Crew Reunion at London Comic Con we converted our Kill Shack photo op to resemble the TCM dining room scene complete with replicas of many recognizable props. Watch a video here.

Frightmare in the Falls

And since it’s been a while since we chatted, we have a second big celebrity reunion to mention: the Friday the 13th Reunion that took place in Jason’s Kill Shack at Frightmare in the Falls.

At Frightmare we proudly hosted a 40′ display, which also featured the Dungeon of Death and a large setup with screen used props. We’d like to thank our volunteers Erika, Kat, Hannah and Lucas who helped make this weekend a success!

Verity

We made a creepy pasta puppet named Verity! Never heard of him? That’s ok, neither did we. Read more about the puppet and watch the short film on our website.

News from Femur Creek

After just 1 day and 2 nights on set, there’s already 7 kills in the can for “Escape from Femur Creek”. That wraps up the 2026 part of the shoot. We won’t give too much away, but what we can tell you is that some of the kills will be brutal, and some utterly hilarious.

AI-ay-ay…

After some turmoil caused by Meta’s proposed updates to their Terms & Conditions, we can breathe again. We debated the consequences of getting rid of all our Meta socials, after they announced the new AI scraping rules. Luckily there was so much backlash, that they did a U-turn, and we don’t have to worry about them using our creations to train their AI (for now…)

By the way, we have a new “Say NO to AI” sticker available, and other cool sticker designs too!

(Not so) famous last words…

Now that the busy season has come to an end, we are aiming for a monthly newsletter again. As always, if you know someone else who is just as much into this shit as you are, tell them to sign up as well!

That’s all from us for today, now go and enjoy your weekend. Stay creepy and creative!
