Yess, we’re reinstating the Locked in the Cellar Newsletter! We won’t be trying to sell you anything, it’s just a fun monthly or bi-monthly email with a bunch of stories and pictures of the weird and interesting things we’ve worked on recently.
Sign up here if you want to be on it:
The first 2026 newsletter was sent out on Aug 5th. Read it below!
Long time no see!
I know, it’s probably been quite a while since you signed up for this newsletter. I hope you don’t mind us starting to send you updates again. Marketing is not my hobby, as is clear by the two year hiatus since our last newsletter. 🫣 But. I’m going to stop thinking of writing newsletters as ‘marketing’ and instead trying to see them as ‘fun and informal ways to keep interested people updated on the weird things going on here’. So here goes.
So what’s new with us? Depends on when we last talked. Lots has happened in the meantime, probably. But in short: Brian and I are still making cool and gross stuff, as usual. Which I know you want to hear more about, so let’s go!

Bacon Lady
We just shipped a custom corpse to the Maritimes! You didn’t hear it from us, but apparently Arch and Fitz from the CBC show St. Pierre are going to encounter a very crispy body at some point in season 3.
The crew has nicknamed her the Bacon Lady, and we’re very curious to see if she’ll actually go by that in the show as well 😁 I made a little compilation of the creative process, watch it here!
And since it was just as easy to make two BBQ corpses while we were at it, we now have a burnt corpse available for rent as well. Just in case you know any filmmakers in need of a charred body for an upcoming production…

News from Femur Creek
We are in pre-production for “Escape from Femur Creek”, which is – you guessed it – the sequel to the very Hamiltonian “Massacre at Femur Creek”.
The FX for the new one are going to be horrific and hilarious (and way higher production value than in the first movie)! But don’t get too excited yet, it’s going to be a while before it comes out, since it’s going to be partially shot this year, and partially in 2027. Pictures coming soon. If you follow us on Insta, you’ll be the first one to see ‘em, but no fear: shortly after they’ll be in one of the next newsletters as well.

Haunted House Party
We just recorded an interview/promo for Haunted House Party, a wicked horror comedy that we shot in Sault St. Marie, MI, last year. It should be posted on their socials soon-ish, so give them a follow if you’re into that. We partnered up with the infamous Kreature Kid for this feature, since it’s so loaded with FX that we couldn’t handle it alone. If you like films with practical effects, definitely keep your eye out for this one. It should be hitting the festival circuit this fall.

Events in August
There is only one event on our schedule this month, and it’s FanExpo. And we’re not even going as vendors! Instead we’ll be dressing up in our favourite cosplays to meet some very interesting people. Can’t tell you who as they haven’t officially been announced yet, but we got a scoop. 🤫

Want to get plastered?
Anyone need plaster bandages by any chance? We’ve got waaay too many of them for a project that fell through. Send us a message and we’ll give you a good price. Pick up in Hamilton.

(Not so) famous last words…
If you enjoyed this newsletter, do us a favour… You must know someone else who is just as much into this shit as you are, so forward this email and tell them to sign up as well! That’s the best way to support your local horror creatives.
That’s it for today. Stay creepy and creative, folks!
